Call of Duty 5 among other Activision games such Guitar Hero 4 and a new Tony Hawk title were announced yesterday. No surprise to me as these 3 games are awesome, especially since Call of Duty 4 rocked so much and sold a lot. Same with how fun Guitar Hero is.

Finally, I am writing a review on one of the greatest games I have ever played. Now given it’s single player might be a little short, I beat it in around 10 8 hours on Veteran first play through (I’m use to COD Veteran Difficulty), it’s still a great game no matter what you say. I’ll start with single player, the graphics are insane, the feel the game gives you as you play through, I enjoyed a lot. What I liked most about the game is the sniper level, given they could of made shooting the sniper at that one point of the level easier and more explainable, it was still so much fun prior to crawl and take out enemies and afterwards when your running to extraction.

Multiplayer is what makes this game so much better, it has to be one of the best multiplayer games I have ever played and their are few of those in my opinion. I am addicted to it sort as I was back in the days when I was addicted to MOH:AA and Call of Duty 1/2 online (Never got into 3 nor enjoyed it). It’s ranking system may be fast but it’s really not that fast after you get in the 30’s and have to reach 55. Rather your good or not unless you cheat and boost which just means you fail at life.

But what’s even better is that there is a ‘Prestige Mode’. What this is once you reach level 55 and fill it’s bar (basically as if you’d fill the bar to reach level 56). You are given the option to enter Prestige Mode and start all over again stating you are an “awesome player” but technically, this is not entirely true as I have played with higher ranks and MOST/99% of them suck so badly. What happens when you entire prestige mode? You look your rank of 55 and start at 1 again, you are given a special badge for each prestige mode you enter (there are 10). You have to rank up to get all your weapons back, you start all over with challenges and being able to create classes. The only thing you basically do get/keep is a new shiny badge and you keep the ability to change your clan tag. There is nothing wrong with this though but I do they should at least unlock all challenges because by the time you unlock the other challenges in the deeper ranks, you’ve completed them prior but don’t get credit for them and you’ll end up going into prestige mode again most likely before you even finish any of them.

Online plays smooth though, it will get even better with the recent updates they have been talking about doing to fix a few some problems such as dropping the game if the host whom 98% of the time you have no idea who is. This update will pick someone else to host it instead. I am not sure but hope in the next update that it will not find you games where they are almost over and of course, you are on the losing team. That or have a minute left, so many scenarios I have been in and sure others that have played the game a lot and understand what I am talking about, have been in too.

I know the game doesn’t have any stat recording like Halo 3 has. This was suppose to be in the game but they pulled it out. They say it will be coming though, I am guessing they should have this for us on their 2nd update though this next update would be awesome to through that in with. I enjoyed that about Halo 3, especially how you can check your stats online (website).

Overall, this game gets a 10/10.

Where to start… this game is absolutely terrible in almost every aspect. It’s aiming system is absolutely horrible, ‘sticking’ to objects is not worth it and barely works half the time, the A.I. of both your team and the enemy are terrible, and so many other things are wrong with the game. As you play through, my brother and I are going through co-op at the moment, there will be parts where the game is just stupid and a lot of it comes down to everything I just pointed out and I know I am leaving a few things out but I’ve said some of the main problems already.

The game could of been better, playing it, I think it could of been. If maybe they had testers to fix out the bugs. They could of made their aiming system so much better, one way they could of at least made it tolerable is if they enemies went down quicker. It takes almost a clip from a P90, Assault Rifle or SAW to take an enemy down, if not more. If you run out of ammo, MOST-OF-THE-TIME, not always, your ‘teammates’ will offer you some so you can refill, they should of just made it unlimited because it’s annoying. I remember doing the bank mission, like 3rd/4th level, first thing you do as a team at the beginning of the game, having to pick up other weapons because while he’s working on the safe he can’t give you ammo and sometimes (at other points of the game) they just won’t give you ammo when you need it.

Overall I give this game a 6/10. I just can’t seem myself to give it any higher. It almost has no replay value because you will not want to replay it unless you have to for any achievements missed. I know about it’s multiplayer, I have not tried it but will at least play it a little, it sounds cool and I was told to check it out because it’s a pretty good concept. I also may come back and update this review a little as I play through the game more and finish it. I’m not sure how far I am, it seems I’m near the end but I could be wrong on that.

I will be first to admit that even though I am not much of a Halo ‘fan’ that I at least still buy and play their games. I may not be close to enjoying its Multiplayer part of the game but I have always somewhat enjoyed playing Single Player/Co-op since not every game released today is Co-op. Almost any co-op game released today, I’ll own if it is really worth it and for Xbox 360 mainly. Halo 3 is a great game, especially since they added not only 2 player co-op but up to 4 player co-op. I was given the chance to local play it, outstanding and smooth. Absolutely had no problems but thankfully for skulls, it made the game a little more challenging or else we would of finished the game in even more less of time (we finished around 6 hours 4 co-op, probably would of took us 4 if no skulls).

Multiplayer, I played and tried to get used to for awhile. It just was not working out. Mainly played because either friends were playing or friends wanted to play. Call of Duty 4 Multiplayer Beta already beats Halo 3 online in my opinion and I am sure once released, it will still beat it. I rate the game at most probably a 9/10. Only because the game feels like Halo 1/2 with a few added things, better graphics (obviously expected if you ever went back to Halo 2) but it’s not about graphics. I enjoyed the voices and each funny line characters had to little wow moments when your playing with your friends or taking down the scarabs together.

This must be the greatest skating game I have yet to play (Xbox 360). It’s 10x better than any Tony Hawk game I have ever played plus it’s more realistic when it comes down to doing tricks. I will agree it takes a little time to learn a few things and not easy at first such as doing manual tricks or getting down the trick you want to try every time but it’s what makes the game great and different. Especially combining tricks with manuals will be frustrating at first.

Saving replays and photos is easy and you can upload them both to the Skate.reel Community (though I’ve read elsewhere and agree you should be able to save more videos and photos seeing how most of us have a lot of hard drive space on the X360 and to be able to upload more to Skate.reel).

You can view my EA Skate Community Profile here: http://skate.share.ea.com/profiles/24520.aspx – find my videos/photos there as well.

I have since completed the game and I do recommend it, especially if have enjoyed the Tony Hawk series, since this game is better than them in mainly ways. There are some improvements needed to skate. though and features such as being able to get off your board and walk/run because it will get annoying having to ollie onto other platforms such as getting off the street onto a curb or finding another way to get up the stairway and so on.

What an insanely great game thus far. I know it’s only beta but wow, I am amazed. This has to be the smoothest game I have ever played. I’ve been playing for almost a week now. Was invited last Saturday but didn’t get a chance to play it till this past Monday.

Graphics are insane, by far better than games as of this date and before for the most part. For example, snipers camouflage is insane, lay in a nice patch of crash in the map Overgrown and it is really hard to see you even up close-though possible but harder.

There is still a lot of bugs and issues to fix in the game though and that is not at all a problem because after all, this is a BETA we are getting the privilege to test out and provide problems to fix.

Spawn points need to be fixed and be smarter, teams that are weak can easily get spawned raped constantly. There also needs to be at least like a 3 second invulnerability just in case. I don’t know how many times that this either happened to the other team or ours/I, spawning in middle of a battle and instantly dieing.

I would like to see at least an extra ammo clip given to us, I just feel as if we go through ammo too fast. It is a fast pace game, it’s NOT at all comparable to Rainbow Six Vegas or GRAW2/1. There is no teamwork necessary involved in public matches, though if there were, you could easily take apart the other team. Yes, you can easily either run over ammo if another person died recently and had the same weapon or you could pick up another gun (but I pref the one I had since it’s got what I want (perks) and so on).

I actually would like to see the killcam go, a lot of people on the CharlieOscarDelta forums don’t seem to but others I have overheard talking or talked too, would like to see it gone. Though it’s a great feature, it does prevent camping in a way but in the 3 maps we have, camping is not an issue. Maybe in Overgrown it would be but you see we have UAV (though it requires someone to kill any of the opponents 3 times without dieing). Then there is also the map, which lights up if anyone is shooting their weapon that does not have a silencer or does not have the UAV Jammer Perk to where you stay off of the UAV/Map. I just think it needs to go, I don’t always care where they killed me and it’s more of a challenge for me to go and find them and kill him/her rather than actually knowing where they killed me and heading there to kill him/her.

I do wish 2 of the 3 maps could be larger (Vacant and Crash). It’s nice having a semi-small map but I feel as its too crowded with 12 people. Especially with spawn points being terrible right now. So I would actually like to see these maps get a little larger and not only that be future maps (hopefully a decent amount of them and not limited maps as most games have today without having to buy more whenever they decide to come out if ever) to be bigger like Overgrown.

The perks are pretty damn cool. I like them, especially Deep Impact which allows your bullets to penetrate walls, therefore if you are shooting someone and they turn the corner, start shooting to the side they went to through the wall and if timed right and able to, you should be hitting them through the wall and kill them.

The weapons, almost nothing to complain about here except possibly ammo, like I said earlier already, another clip at least would be great but it’s still not THAT much of a problem like I said. I am however annoyed when people use the Mini-Uzi/Scorpion and maybe sometimes the shotguns but I know most of use hate that weapon even though we sometimes use it ourself. Plus, people are trying to complete there challenges with it and will continue and when the game comes out, so no luck on seeing those barely used much. Especially if you find someone that loves the weapon because it’s almost easy to kill people with it and fast.

Ranking is pretty easy. You are good at first person shooter games, you should not have a problem ranking up fast. It took me 2 hours to rank up from Lvl. 11 to 16 on the latest level cap increase on September 7th. And before then on the Monday when I first played the game, I was at level 11 at least 3 hours (was getting use to the game, the maps, the weapons, etc and multitasking).

Well that’s it for now, I will probably do another write up of the beta in another week or later than that. I may even capture some video game play, if allowed too, so I will read on that.

Great game I must say, probably the best and fastest Madden game I have yet to play. Not to venture off subject but I can’t understand how EA Games messed up so much on NCAA Football 08. It’s so terrible, especially load times, it makes you just want to play 07; which basically all sports games are the same with sometimes some useful cool added features.

In NCAA Football 08 you can save and upload your best plays from a game, I don’t understand why Madden 08 doesn’t have that feature. There are so many plays in Madden 08 already that I would love to upload and can’t, you can’t even save them to show friends later, how lame is that? In NCAA Football 08, you can. Though I like NCAA Football, I don’t care much to play it as much and save cool plays in it as I would like to with Madden.

Franchise and Super Star Mode’s are great, was playing as my Super Star from NCAA Football 08 till after so many games I just got bored of it (will go back though) and started a Franchise with the Chicago Bears.

Overall, I would give this game a 9/10. I highly recommend it if you are into sports games/football/Madden Franchise.

So the black Xbox that we have been hearing about for awhile is finally real, Xbox 360 Elite.

What’s new? It’s black, has HDMI port and a 120GB HD.

Is it worth it? If you currently have an Xbox 360 Console, I say no. If not, why not except you will be paying $79.99 more as the price is $479.99, not $399.99. The reason why I say no if you currently have one is because there is nothing great about the new “Elite” console. Wow, it has HDMI, most HDTV’s will not show much a difference between HDMI and Component. Then there is the 120GB HD, you can buy it separately for a whopping $179.99. Yes, $179.99 not including the tax you will have to pay. This is so overpriced and ridiculous, Microsoft needs to rethink this price and they could by getting rid of the overpriced 20GB HD as well.

“Put simply, I feel that $180 is too much money to charge for a 120GB drive; this is especially true when I remember that I’m paying for nearly all the content that I will store on that drive in addition to the $50 a year I’m paying to play games on Live. They should have removed the 20GB drive from the market and released this new one at the existing pricepoint. Hell, it should be free after the purchase of your 20th Live Arcade game.” — Taken from this 1up story.

I completely agree what he has said. I do not understand why Microsoft would call this console “Elite” considering there is no built-in HD-DVD drive. Blu-Ray is winning the HD-DVD vs Blu-Ray format war in my opinion, if the console would already come built-in rather than as a $199 add-on I think it would help Microsoft gain some more ground in the format war. Another thing, no built-in WiFi, this is just more of a convince to people, I wouldn’t use it myself as I use Ethernet but there are people using it they could save money rather than having to buy the $99 wireless adapter.

GRAW 2 for Xbox 360 should really be called GRAW 1.5. It’s a great game, don’t get me wrong. Online is much better (except the disconnections that people have been experiencing here and there), graphics are much better online, etc. But single player campaign once again really is short. Possibly shorter then GRAW, it only took me around 4 hours to beat it on Medium then I played it again on Hard and I swear it may of been even less then that. They could at least have it where the enemies at least change their locations from each difficulty and/or add more on each higher difficulty. Like I said, it’s a great game, I’m playing it still till another game replaces this one as usual.

In light of more Xbox Live users each day and more of these kids getting Rainbow Six: Vegas as well. I have decided just to make a separate page for the bad among the good ranked hosts to avoid or play with. You can reach this page at http://www.mistical.com/rainbowsix/

Before I go I want to talk about 2 more people, I may even do a Part 4 in the feature if it is a good one to write about.

Kunntilda666, kicks me 10 minutes into the match. He doesn’t even play, he takes the package and idles at the roof while everyone else is killing the team and then just kicks random people if defenders are quiting just to get absolutely no points taken away from him. Stay away from if possible, it doesn’t even matter if you are #1 killer on the team, he kicks anyone, as he did to me (I was on top). Maybe he didn’t wanted to go to school tomorrow feeling he was the best one on the team?

uknow760, kicked for no reason 1 minute into the match, same team. He’s a booster anyways. Would not answer my private chat invites. No one ever seems to after they kick me, too afraid to talk to me I guess. Update: hours later I played with this guy in another server, switched to defense just to play against him. I do not even know where toe begin because he was so terrible and as usual had nothing else to say to me except to tell me I boosted. We did however lose (almost won though) but I ended up in first on my team (not that it matters if you lose) with a 25/10 ratio and he had a ratio of 8/18. He said he kicked me from his server a minute into it because I was the lowest on my team, bullshit because I know I was already #1 on the team with a few kills already.

That ends Part 3, so everyone knows. I do 90% of the time have good matches and no problems, at least for me. I will write those down that kick others on my team for no real reason except me even though I did not get kicked. For example, I had a great few matches with host: xx DirtyNutz xx. I host matches as well so you can look for my gamertag as well.
